Ellen Brody is a graduate student and most of what she currently writes is nonfiction. She was the Program Chair and Co-Chair of Readercons 9 and 10, and has continued to work on the program ever since, as well as on other aspects of the convention. She has also directed, acted, produced, designed, and everything else in theater. Her favorite previous roles include: Viola in Twelfth Night, Launcelot Gobbo in The Merchant of Venice, Mrs. X in The Stronger, Joan in Saint Joan, Harriet Stanley in The Man Who Came to Dinner, and Ruth in Blithe Spirit. At an audition, a director once handed her the first three pages of an Agatha Christie novel and said “read.” She got the part. This is the tenth consecutive Readercon at which she has read a selection by the Memorial Guest of Honor.
